Bandung Food List

Let me summarize the restaurants/ hawker stalls we visited in Bandung:-

1. Bumbu Desa @ Rumah Mode - Available in Malaysia too, food was good, love the chicken with green chilies (it's not spicy).

2. Saung Punclut - Restaurant located at the hill, it was highly recommended by our cab driver, he loves the fried chicken from this stall. But, we like the potatoes only XD

Bandung Day Tour Itinerary

Here's the summary of our Bandung Day Tour Itinerary, there are only four destinations due to the traffic was quite bad and it took hours to drive from one place to another place.

1. Tangkuban Perahu - The famous dormant volcano, take 2 hours drive from the city.

2. Sari Ater Hot Spring - Not too far from Tangkuban Perahu, a place where you can do picnic and play water :)

3. Kampung Daun Gallery Culture Cafe - 1 hour+ drive from Hot Spring, a scenic view restaurant where you can enjoy the traditional food under fresh air.

4. Paskal Food Market - An open food court where you can find 1,100 type of food

There is another scenic place recommended by the locals where they say it's beautiful like heaven - Kawah Putih (White Crater), a striking crater lake. We didn't manage to visit it due to it's located at the different direction from Tangkuban Perahu, both places required 2 hours+ drive from the city, which it's quite impossible to make a tour to both places in a day.

Bandung International Airport: Say Goodbye~

When we were waiting to do check-in at the Bandung International Airport, one lady wearing Baju Kebaya came to us and helped us to do the check-in within just a few minutes and asked us to follow her to a cafe to sit down have a cup of coffee and relax. We thought she was the crew and happy that the check-in progress going so smooth and quick until we reached the cafe only realized she is actually the owner of the cafe *sweat* No wonder service so good la! Lol~

Anyway since we were there early and nothing else can do so we took a table and ordered some food. Oh well, of course the proper restaurant or local street food would taste nicer.

Bandung Paskal Food Market is an open food court, where you can find 1,100 type of food here. If you break it down, there are about 100 stalls, so each stall selling 11 items...there it goes :)

This food court opens until 10pm or 11pm. Sorry for couldn't provide the accurate information because this is what we have been told by the locals.

Tax & Service Charges are applicable.

Bandung Sari Ater Hot Spring

On the way down from Tangkuban Perahu and Sari Ater Hot Spring, you will pass by Kawah Domas, another hot spring where is not so well-known to the public due to this place is much smaller and quiet. If not because of our driver pointed out this place, we would miss out the color faded sign board and the little cottage at the road side. Driver said it's free entrance and people enjoy boiling eggs in the hot spring water. Well, since we were there already so might as well just go down to have a look.

We checked at the signboard and noticed that entrance fee is required, they charged Rp20,000/pax!!

Our driver gave us a sign of 'not-to-go-in' since it used to be free of charge and now the fee is so freaking expensive! So we get back into the car and continued our journey to hunt for food to feed our hungry soul.

We met another 3 Chinese girls who took the same flight with us at LCCT. We exchanged phone number while waiting for Air Asia to arrange accommodation for all passengers due to flight cancelled. (to check on Bandung airport operation hours, please refer to my previous post)

They visited the scenery spots in Bandung one day earlier than us. We received SMS from them after they finished their day tour, warning us to be extra careful when we reach there.

We met again at Bandung International Airport's departure hall and we shared our experience in Bandung, there we found out the reason they warned us to be extra careful was because of they encountered a big group of men, who also called themselves as the 'official tour guide', followed closely behind them when they walking to the hot spring at Kawah Domas. The road is narrow and only one way to go in and out to the hot spring, it could be difficult for 3 girls to escape if anything happens! They felt uncomfortable and scared so they quickly left the place.

Just a little advise, when you are travel alone or travel in a group of only girls, always put your own safety at first place. Exploring new places is always fun, but do not risk your own safety. Always be alert and look around the surrounding.

Let's go back to the topic - Sari Ater Hot Spring :)

Well, another tourist spot where you need to pay for the entrance fee Rp22,000/pax, parking 18,000/car and tips Rp2,000.

If you have been to Sungkai Hot Spring, Perak, Malaysia, this place is 99% similar to Sungkai. Most of the visitors are local and Malay, you can do picnic here or jump into the pool to enjoy the hot spring water heat. Same thing, there was one 'tour guide' followed closely behind us.
